Your vacation should be all about relaxing, recharging, and enjoying yourself. You do not want to lose precious vacation time waiting for an available berth or arguing with local agents if an anchor location turns out not to be what you expected. Let us suggest some spots where all you have to do is drop anchor and relax.
Žanjic, Montenegro
Our first stop is charming Žanjic beach on the Luštica Peninsula. This spacious beach is encircled by two verdant headlands, giving it sheltered clear waters and a gently sloping shoreline. It is surrounded by olive groves offering perfect shade during hot summer days, and it is home to a 5 stars fish restaurant. After a one-of-a-kind, luxurious lunch at Fishermen’s Village a visitor can walk the island to enjoy its flora and fauna, have a cup of coffee, or simply stop by a grocery store for last minute necessities. For an unforgettable visit we recommend the following:
- Blue Cave diving experience.
- Lunch or dinner with a million dollar view at Ribarsko selo or Forte Rose.
- An afternoon to explore the surroundings.
- If you are a history lover don’t miss out on old Yugoslav submarine tunnels
- Cave kayaking
Jakljan, Croatia
Jakljan Island is a small island lying barely two miles off the coast of Croatia, northwest of the port of Dubrovnik, and immediately west of the larger island Šipan. Known as the Elafiti Islands, the chain is heavily forested and unspoiled. Several of the islands are popular day trip destinations for holidaymakers staying in Dubrovnik, but visiting yachts use various anchorages around the islands to escape the crowds and even the busier anchorages offer a quiet spot at night when the tripper boats sail home.
- Island Jakljan is situated only 8 nm from the town of Ston, and we highly recommend you visit the walls of Ston.
- Just a couple of miles across the water loom and massive mountains of the Croatian mainland you’ll find a little paradise on earth named restaurant BOWA.
- Visit a hidden beachfront oasis, a lush garden basking in the sounds and fragrances of the Mediterranean. Reward yourself with a true holiday, with around the clock entertainment, fine dining, spa treatments, and numerous activities here.
Badija, Croatia
Badija is the largest island in the Peljesac archipelago and a quick boat ride from Korcula Island. The most dominant feature of the island is the sprawling Franciscan Monastery which dates back to the 14th century. The island presents true heaven on earth, replete with pine trees and bordered by rocky beaches perfect for a daily swim. From this anchorage we recommend the following:
- Have a lunch at the first Michelin star restaurant in old town Korčula.
- Enjoy the sun on our pool deck overlooking the Adriatic Sea at Villa Korta Katarina, or take a sip of rich, full-bodied red or delicate white wine at the Korta Katarina Winery.
- Visit a beautiful 14th Century Franciscan Monastery
- Just spend a day relaxing at one of many stunning rocky beaches with clear blue waters and enjoy the unexpected visit from one of the islands native creatures, deer. Yes, you read it right, wild deer roam freely on the island enjoying all its peace and quiet.
Palmižana & The Pakleni Islands, Croatia
Many yachts use Palmižana and the nearby anchorages around the Pakleni Islands as the means to visit Hvar without battling its busy harbour. Despite its vicious name, Hell’s Islands is a must visit the island in Croatia. We suggest the following:
- The island Marinkovac is one of the tiny islands that lies opposite Hvar. Pleasantly treed and surrounded by crystal clear water, the island offers a somewhat sophisticated yet understated sanctuary from the hubbub of Hvar.
- To jump into a world of relaxation or if you are wanting to experience the feeling of pure fun in the real sense of this word this place is a right place to visit.
- Laganini Lounge Bar & Fish House is one of the most exclusive holiday destinations in Croatia, easily accessible by your motorboat. We strongly recommend this place to you, no matter if you are a fish or cocktail lover, this place has it all!
- If you prefer sport activities you can kayak from one inlet to another, from one island to another, in less than ten minutes, and explore the beauty of the nature at its finest.
Maslinica Bay, Šolta, Croatia
The south side of the bay is covered with beautiful pine wood surrounding small secluded rocky beaches. In front of it lies an archipelago of seven islets making Maslinica one of the most wonderful spots in the Adriatic. This is a great tourist destination for nature lovers. Unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear water lately became increasingly popular with cyclists, rowers, yachtsmen, and divers, as well as with the aficionados of recreational fishing and hunting. Once here, we suggest the following:
- Adventurous tourists will surely go for a jet-ski ride, while those who prefer basking in the sun can do so at beautiful pebble beached or take a trip to the nearby Šipkova Bay the only sandy beach on the island!
- Kayak to one of the islets – the view of the nearby bays, Trogir and Drvenik, from the Parish Church of St. Nicholas, is quite rewarding, and we are sure that the view of the sun setting behind the islets scattered in the sea like gems will leave you breathless!
- Visit Martinis Marchi Marina, a new, modern marina situated in the beautiful Maslinica bay on the Island of Šolta, right next to the heritage hotel and the restaurant. Marina offers a modern mooring capacity of 50 boats (measuring up to 40m in length) along with several berths for larger boats. The luxury, privacy, safety, and high level of service you shall experience here is nowhere else to be found!
- This chic marina offers a hotel, restaurant and, full SPA service. If you are a spa and wellness lover relax your body and mind with one of their rich offers. Indulge in their body, facial, and foot treatments or simply enjoy the sauna and a Turkish bath.
Brač Island, Croatia
The last one on our itinerary, a gem itself, is the Brač Island, famous for its beautiful while stone used to build a White House, in Washington D.C. This is the longest and most elevated island in central Dalmatia, 48km long, 14 km wide, covering 394 square kilometers.
